I think your point about being less concerned with the exact mechanisms through which the vagus nerve works on our physiology, and more interested in the application of vagus stimulation, is the part that everyone needs to hear. The exact 'how' can be debated (yes, good science). But those of us who have healed or have helped others heal or improve their mental health, using the PVT framework, or other modalities that work with the vagus nerve, can't deny the benefits... Thanks for writing on this, and I appreciate your perspective. 🙏

I would like to share an alternative view. What gives me pause is that most, if not all neuroscientists I come across don't buy into PVT. It's not simply an argument between 2 theorists, Grossman's "et al" is actually many professionals.

I don't deny that the tools from PVT have great use and implications in therapeutic work, I use aspects myself and have attended some of your talks. But it seems undeniable that it has been given more scientific justification than necessary. The therapeutic value isn't dependent on the neuroscience. I'm aware that my knowledge is limited but I've read many articles from experienced writers here who have informed my thoughts.
